MMA & Boxing Shin Guard Size Guide

MMA & Boxing Shin Guard Size Guide

Getting the right fit for your shin guards is crucial for safety and comfort. Shin guards that are too large will slip; those too small won’t protect your instep or shin properly.

This guide helps you choose the correct size based on height, shin length, and brand recommendations.

General Size Chart (Fairtex, Twins, Top King, Other)

Size Recommended Height Shin Length (cm) Notes
S Under 160 cm Up to 34 cm Youth/Small Adults
M 160 – 170 cm 34 – 37 cm Most adults
L 170 – 180 cm 37 – 40 cm Taller adults
XL 180 cm + 40 cm + Large build/tall fighters

Tip: Measure from the bottom of your knee to the top of your ankle.

Brand Fit Differences

  • Fairtex SP5 fits snug with curved padding. Great for all-round use.
  • Twins SGL10 is slightly bulkier—best for extra sparring protection.
  • Top King Super Series runs true to size with extended shin coverage.

How Should Shin Guards Fit?

  • Should cover from just below the knee to top of foot
  • No excessive gaps
  • Should not rotate or slide when you move
  • Should feel firm but not tight enough to restrict blood flow
